About Social and Behaviour Change Program

  0

USIU-Africa and Centre for Behaviour Change and Communication (CBCC) recently signed an MOU sealing a partnership aimed at providing new short course programmes on Social and Behaviour Change (SBC). This novel initiative is geared towards building capacity in SBC - an approach that helps to address complex and dynamic behaviour-linked issues at individual, organizational and societal levels. This approach supports people-centred development and has been shown to influence lasting and sustainable social and behaviour change.

The three distinct courses that will be offered are:

1. Executive Social and Behaviour Change programme

This programme is designed for senior professionals and executives working across different sectors interested in steering transformative social and behaviour change programmes in their work. It is designed for those seeking to influence their programmes with current evidence-based SBC approaches, models and strategies. It inspires SBC leadership to design, implement and measure innovative and scalable programmes.

Fee: Ksh. 72,000 / USD 720

2. Social and Behaviour Change Training and Certification Programme for Practitioners

This programme is designed for professionals who want to be competent in planning, designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluating effective SBC programmes. It introduces innovative and evidence-based SBC approaches applicable across different sectors. This is a competency-based programme and enables participants to practice the design of an SBC intervention within the training. Participants are also expected to work on a project after the course for certification.

Fee: Ksh. 62,000 / USD 620

3. Social and Behaviour Change Training Programme for Emerging Professionals

This programme aims to enhance the skills and capacity of emerging SBC professionals, to enable them to link theory to practice, adequately prepare them for entry to the SBC sector and enhance their employability. We also intend to train and nurture future SBC professionals whilst providing networking, mentoring, and role modelling best practices.

Fee: Ksh. 42,000 / USD 420

These courses will be offered online by CBCC and USIU-Africa's Psychology Department in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
