Nathalie Ngatia

Head of Alliances at Standard Chartered Bank

Nathalie Ngatia is a strategic partnership expert, with a keen interest on collaborative efforts that leverage disruptive technologies and digital capabilities to solve for societal challenges. She is currently Head of Alliances at Standard Chartered Bank, where she is responsible for leading her team in the conceptualisation and implementation of strategic partnerships, to deliver solutions that go beyond traditional banking products.

Prior to this, Nathalie worked for American Express (UK) as a Senior Manager in the Strategy team. In this role, she led the organisation in the design and delivery of the first Home Based Call Centre model for AMEX covering England, Wales and Scotland. Whilst in the UK, Nathalie also worked on consulting projects for PZ Cussons, Manchester FM Radio, and Samvo Gaming Group, on their international market entry strategies; a phase in her career that gave her the opportunity to work in Germany and Poland. She has also worked at Stanbic Bank Kenya as a Corporate Relationship Manager, and at Grey Owl Limited as a Brand Strategy Executive.

Described by her colleagues and friends as a connector, innovator and resilient go-getter, Nathalie is a career multipotentialite, which is evidenced from her colourful career experience that has seen her work across different geographies, industries and roles. She credits her career experiences as having enabled her to develop a strategic mind-set, establish global networks and increase her awareness of culture in doing business in today’s global economy.

Away from work, she is a believer in paying it forward and enjoys giving back to the community by mentoring others. She serves on two boards:

The League of Friends at the Kenyatta National Hospital, whose mandate is to assist financially disadvantaged orthopaedic patients following injury.

The University of Manchester’s MBA Advisory Board, where she provides guidance on the development of a future –ready MBA curriculum relevant for today’s business environment.

She is a content creator, and has written articles on LinkedIn on strategic partnerships, leadership, financial inclusion & innovation. She also has a fitness blog on Instagram, where she encourages others to live a well-balanced lifestyle, by incorporating exercise in their daily routine

Nathalie holds a Bsc. (Hons) International Business Administration (Marketing) from USIU, Nairobi and an MBA (Strategic Marketing) from University of Manchester (Manchester Business School), UK.
