Email: sjames@usiu.ac.ke Areas of specializations/specialization: Journalism, Communication for development, film and media Biography: Mr. Silvester Mutua is a lecturer in Journalism, communication and film production studies. His interests are in development communication, Broadcast journalism and film production and directing. Mutua has over twenty years of cumulated teaching experience in the two areas. He has also consulted widely in the same fields. Mutua is also a curriculum developer, He designed and wrote the curriculum for BA Film Production and Directing and BA Animation programs. He has also played a key role in the BA journalism review and assessment. Mutua is also a prolific writer, producer and director in documentary and feature film genres. His research areas are in film studies, journalism and communication for development.
Academic Degrees: PhD candidate-Daystar University Communication (Film and Media studies) Master of Arts in Communications from Daystar University Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons.) in Literature in English and Linguistics from Kenyatta University Post Graduate Diploma in Education from Kenyatta University Diploma in Film Production and Directing from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
