Isaiah K. Cherutich
Mr. Cherutich is a Broadcast journalist who teaches Electronic Media and Public Relations at United States International University, Nairobi. He is a PhD Candidate (Communications Studies - School of Journalism, University of Nairobi), holds a Master of Arts Degree in Journalism (Broadcast Media) from Moscow State University-Journalism Faculty in the Russian Federation having graduated in 1992. He is a Board Member at Kenya’s Communications and Multimedia Appeals Tribunal (CAMAT), a Kenya government institution that offers alternative dispute resolution in the communications and multimedia industries. A member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) and an Associate Member of Kenya Institute of Management (AMKIM). Mr. Cherutich has over 25 years experience in the media industry having worked at Kenya Television Network (KTN) as a reporter and later as an International News Editor in the 1990s, as Chief Public Relations Officer at National Housing Corporation (NHC) from 1996 - 2000. He has taught in various universities including Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), Nairobi and Maseno University. Between September 2005 – 2012, Mr. Cherutich served as the Coordinator of the USIU Journalism Program. Over the years, he has actively participated on various TV and Radio programmes and talk-shows on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, Kenya Television Network, NTV (Hatua Programme), Radio Deutchwelle among many others.
