PARTNER WITH PACS
The Placement & Career Services (PACS) department exists to prepare students for the transition from college to career. The services offered can be categorized into three core functions:

  • Training – Employability and job search training workshops on areas such as CV and cover letter writing, interview skills, locating opportunities, and personal branding.
  • Career advising – This may be one on one or group advising on topics including choice of major, career options, and job search pointers.
  • Partnerships – Employers and industry professionals are our key partners, especially HR professionals who are the main contacts in organizations with whom we interact directly. These linkages are key in supporting our programs such as mentorship, class talks, recruitment drives, and Career Fairs.

At the Placement and Career Services Office (PACS), we are focused on engaging our industry partners in the following areas:
Recruitment
Recruiting is your direct link to reaching students for employment and internship opportunities. Take advantage of our online job portal, Careerlink, where you can post jobs and receive applications directly. The system can send alerts to students on the platform when a new opportunity is posted. You can speak to us directly for urgent recruitment or specially targeted requests.

Annual Career Fair
Our annual Career Fair is an excellent recruiting opportunity, as it exposes you to a wide variety of students, providing additional visibility for your organization. For information on upcoming career fairs, email: careeroffice@usiu.ac.ke

On-campus interviews
On-Campus Interviews allow you to meet with many USIU-Africa students in one day. We are flexible, allowing for half or full-day schedules. To make your visit as simple as possible, let us help you develop and maintain your job or internship posting and use a venue at PACS for the interview.

Mentorship
Our structured mentorship program is flexible and allows the opportunity for a one on one or group mentoring for a period of six months to one year, which is aligned with the schedules of the mentor.

Guest Lectures and skills training
Professionals from different industries are invited through the Career Services office to share their valuable insights from their extensive experiences in entrepreneurship and employment, on issues or challenges faced, and how they dealt with them. Participating in such a session on campus helps build your organization’s brand among the students. This individualized plan will allow you to attract and engage the right candidates for your positions. This opportunity will also allow you to share your company's success, culture, and why students should work for you.

Sponsor a Program
These are co-branded career development programs based on the different years of study. We welcome organizations to sponsor a program and support the next workforce generation as they achieve other organizational goals.
