Sports Update February Saturday, 15 and Sunday, 16

Basketball

On Saturday, during the Kenya Universities Sports Association Nairobi Conference (NAKUSA) basketball matches played at Kenyatta University (KU), the ladies' team beat KU (Ruiru Campus) 22 – 17 and thereafter crushed Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) 60 – 23. The following day, the team beat JKUAT (Nairobi campus) 60 – 23. The men’s team beat Mt. Kenya University 73 – 63 and lost to Kenyatta University 15 – 31.

Soccer

In the NAKUSA football league matches played on Saturday and Sunday, the ladies' team lost to Zetech University by four goals to zero at Kenyatta University, and the following day beat St. Paul University by a solitary goal. The men’s team lost to Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University by two goals to five and beat Mater Hospital by two goals to one in their last game of the day.

Swimming

The team represented the university in the Kenya Swimming Federation Level II gala, held on Saturday at Makini School and bagged ten Gold medals and 6 Silver medals.

Rugby

The Rugby team beat Kisii by 16 - 3 during their Championship league match played at Kisii grounds on Saturday.

Hockey

The hockey team travelled to Kitale to participate in the Makanda Tournament where the Men’s team won the Tournament and USIU-Africa’s Samuel Silong was won the Most Valuable Player award (MVP),while the ladies’ team lost to Eldoret Youth by two goals to three in the semifinal.
