Personal Details
Dr. Mutanu is currently a Lecturer at the United States International University-Africa. She teaches computer related graduate and undergraduate degree courses. Her areas of specialization include teaching Software Engineering, Data Structures, Data Mining and Machine Learning. She has conducted research in developing Early Warning Systems, IoT Technology and Autonomic Computing.


Educational Background

Leah holds a PhD in Computer Science from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom, attended from 2011 to 2018. The focus of her PhD was on Software Engineering of Service Oriented Applications. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Managing Information Systems from the University of Nairobi, attended from the year 2002 to 2004. She has a Bachelor of Education degree in Mathematics and Physics form Edgerton University, attended from the year 1996 to 2000


Professional Experience
She joined USIU-Africa in the year 2007 as a lecturer in Information Systems Technology. Previously she worked at Kabarak University as a Computer Science lecturer for the period 2005 to 2007. Prior to that she had worked as a systems administrator for Metropolitan Health Group-Kenya.
