Roles:-

To provide overall leadership to the Chandaria School of Business and drive the continuing development of the school’s extensive activities. Ensuring that the school provides quality instruction delivery to our students, leading the School in its professional and academic mission and to be responsible for the formulation and implementation of strategies that continue to grow the teaching and research success and its financial stability.

Developing the School’s academic plans in line with the overall strategic plan of the University, creating a professional, innovative and imaginative nature and function of the work carried out within the School. Pro-actively contributing to the strategic leadership and management of the Academic Division of the university. Setting, communicating and implementing the School’s overall mission, vision, aims and objectives, in consultation with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, consistent with USIU-Africa Strategic Plan.

Defining, agreeing and achieving measurable goals and targets for the School, in terms of academic developments concerned with teaching and research. Support the alignment of the School’s staff and faculty with those of the University to ensure consistency with USIU-Africa’s Strategic Plan. Support and advise the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs as necessary, and be a pro-active and a constructive member of Academic Management Team (AMT). Be a proactive member of relevant corporate fora.

Monitoring quality of teaching and learning environment on a day-to-day basis including:

Supporting and coordinating faculty (both fulltime and adjunct) to perform their work efficiently, resolving students’ academic issues, coordinating curriculum development activities, examining documentation in course files and evaluating faculty performance, participating in faculty recruitment to ensure that the required standards are met, coordinating library and textbook acquisition, monitoring implementation of courses as per the academic schedule, leading the development of new programs to diversify academic program choices available to students, overseeing internship programs to ensure effectiveness of student supervision, sourcing for faculty and overseeing the implementation of activity targets set towards meeting the University’s double accreditation requirements.
