The Marketing and Communications Department falls under the Division of Institutional Planning and Advancement and is crucial in ensuring that the USIU-Africa brand is consistent across the university.
The office exists to help the institution achieve its core business and is therefore the strategic partner to all academic and administrative units.
Through strategic communications, marketing and public relations activities, the overall functions of the department are;
- To uphold the university’s reputation and promote its values both internally and externally.
- To raise awareness of the university whilst drawing attention to the impact our alumni, faculty, students and staff are making locally and internationally.
While the Marketing and Communications department oversees matters related to brand, staff, faculty, students and alumni also play a role in communicating the USIU-Africa brand through their interactions with the external public who do not have direct interaction with the institution. It is therefore paramount for all members of the USIU-Africa community to work closely with the office of Marketing and Communications to present a unified brand for the progress of the institution.
Administrative responsibilities are handled by the Marketing & Communications Associate as well as assisting in the execution of university marketing and communication activities.
The purpose of USIU-Africa’s corporate brand identity is to set the institution apart from other brands. Guarded by the Marketing and Communications departments, approval to use the school logo must be sort and procedures stipulated in the brand guidelines adhered to.
All creative, media planning and advertisement buying is managed from the Marketing and Communications office. This ensures that the institution presents itself as a unified brand while providing the necessary professional assistance required for the highest impact in achieving the intended goal of the advertisement(s).
Under creative services, both layout/design and photography are captured.
